Hayes Family Cottage

The Hayes Cottage is a unique parcel on Conesus Lake with 200 feet of lakefront and what is believed to be the oldest existing log cabin on the lake. It was originally built in Springwater and later dragged north on the winter ice to its lakeside perch.
The 2025 design by Bero Architecture included the careful removal of a 1950’s lean to kitchen addition and the construction of a bungalow style 1500sqft addition. The scope included new foundations, framing, walls, roofing, and mechanical and electrical upgrades to blend the historic cottage with new bathrooms, bedrooms, and a lakeview kitchen. This project does well to blend the original cottage features with the newer addition as they pair harmoniously together creating a one of a kind cottage with history imbued into the very cottage itself. The project was completed without the family missing a summer season.
